Popular Nigerian actress Ayo Adesanya has opened up about her experiences playing wicked roles in movies, in which she revealed how these roles affect her emotionally.
She revealed in an interview with Saturday Beats that she was taken aback by how convincingly she could portray evil characters in a movie.
She said: “Acting different roles exposes one to various lifestyles.“Sometimes, when I watch myself acting wickedly in a movie, I marvel at how well and easily I play those roles. I begin asking myself if I am that wicked. It actually makes me feel bad. I know I am wearing someone’s character, but I still wonder why a character could be so heartless.”
Her latest venture is a YouTube series titled ‘Madam Movable.’ The series features her in a comedic role as a delivery woman, a first for her.
Speaking about the project, she highlighted the challenges she faced, including learning to ride a bike.
She explained that “Having acted a lot of characters, I decided to do something different that would help me push boundaries”. “There are lots of delivery men, but I have never encountered a delivery woman. Also, I have not really explored my comedy side the way I would love to, so I decided to do so in this series. However, it is not the usual style of comedy, but a ‘calm’ one. Learning to ride a bike was not easy and I had to train for a week before I could get it right. After that experience, I started to give kudos to okada riders.”
Ayo Adesanya counselled young ladies about relationships in addition to her acting job.
she said:“Having a good relationship is not easy now, as even men do not want to get married again.” “However, if a relationship starts from friendship, it will flourish better. There are different reasons one might want to ask for money from a man, but if you are just dating, under no circumstance must you ask for money, because you will lose your respect. If he gives you, that’s fine. But, you should not ask.”
