According to actress Kehinde Bankole, in an interview, presenting a gripping plot in a movie doesn’t always require nudity or kissing, and she, who gained notoriety for playing Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, clarified that any use of nudity in a movie ought to be carefully and sensibly justified.
In an interview that went viral on Tuesday, actress Kehinde Bankole, discussed her feelings regarding the Duke Rants YouTube series.She spoke about a variety of subjects, including drug misuse, mental health, and the entertainment business in Nigeria.
The host questioned the actress about the limits of her readiness to go nude in motion picture productions throughout the discussion.
She responded: “The key word is intelligent. There are instances where you see nudity, but it’s not perceived as sensual because of the context.”
Asking how far Kehinde would go to display her body for a part, the host persisted.
“As far as it is intelligently required, not just because it is required. Sometimes, you don’t need nudity, you don’t need excessive kissing, you don’t need all of that to tell a good story.
“For example, if a couple has been married for 10 years, you don’t need to start the scene by showing them in a sexual act,” she explained.
Kehinde acknowledged that her response to the topic of whether she could be nude in a movie was uncomfortable and that such responses are sometimes misconstrued.
“I don’t like that question because the answer would always be taken out of context. This is the internet, after all. I’ll just say that I can do what is artistically required,” she emphasised.
As a Lux ambassador, Kehinde Bankole first rose to fame. She then starred as Caro in the family drama Super Story: Everything It Takes. She has since acted in other Nollywood films, such as Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Sister, and Adire.
