Filmmaker and producer Bello Ojumola has shared in an interview with Talk to B by Biola Adebayo her life experience and how she attempted to break the Guinness world record.
She revealed that she had wanted to break the Guinness World Record since she was eight years old. When she called them to express her desire to participate, they told her to wait 12 good months or pay a sum of $10,500 if she couldn’t wait. Since she couldn’t wait that long, she called on some friends for support.
She said that she didn’t call people to come and open her eyes for her or they should come and help her to stay awake, only what she did was to call on people to come and encourage her.
She disclosed that at first, she felt alone and that people were abusing her online, accusing her of being assigned to perform work that she is incapable of performing. For this reason, she is asking for support from others.
She further said a lot of people were praising her that she’s very good and talented in acting, but when they want to shoot their film they wouldn’t call on her.
She stated that she sent a text message to her Godmother that she wanted to break the Guinness world record, also called on Kemity.
Jumola claimed that she told her boss Ibrahim Yekini aka iteledicon and told her to step in that he will give her full support.
She revealed that she spent 1.4 million naira producing her most recent movie, Looser, and that, astonishingly, the YouTube platform where she posted it only paid her 11,500 naira, despite the substantial money she had to spend on the production.
She remarked that she was delighted she was able to give out the story although it was very tough. She emphasised that it is not about her but rather her junior colleagues, and she encouraged her industry colleagues to support them, particularly in moments of need.
Bello Ojumola is a Nigerian actor, producer, director and filmmaker who achieved the monumental feat by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest acting marathon, completing 139 hours and 19 minutes of nonstop acting. The record breaking performance, known as the “Act ATHON”, captivated audiences as Ojumola pushed the limits for 5 days and 12 hours.
Known for her work such as Ojumola, Chef, Apajuba, Omotebi and others, Ojumola took on the challenge with a deep sense of purpose, not just to set a new world record but to inspire a sense of community among her fellow actresses and supporters . While receiving overwhelming encouragement from online fans, Ojumola Bello pushed herself beyond 135 hours, hoping for more in-person support from colleagues.
