Movie star and filmmaker Funke Akindele has kept her pledge from last month that she will include the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service in her next movie, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” which was disclosed on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday by senior special assistant to Lagos State governor Jubril Gawat on new media, releasing a video.
He wrote, “Renowned Nollywood Actress and CEO of Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), @funkeakindele features Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service @LagosRescue on her upcoming movie as promised.
“She made the promise when she visited the agency last month.”
During her July courtesy visit to the fire service’s Alausa headquarters, Funke stated her intention to work with them and that her film would include fire prevention themes in an effort to lessen the number of fire outbreaks in the state.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service then praised the partnership, pointing out that it supports their goal of promoting safety and averting fire-related events. The partnership also intends to raise public awareness of fire dangers and encourage preventative actions to avoid fires.
In April, Funke Akindele announced on Instagram that her upcoming film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, a spinoff from the Jenifa franchise will premiere in December.
