Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji took to his social media page to speak about his new cinema movie “Lisabi” while wearing customised native attire with Lisabi written on it and smiling.
He wrote in the post’s description that, although growing up, he was unaware that the person going by the name Lisabi was actually human, after hearing of his eulogy. He also added that, having spent years researching the subject, he was drawn to the hero’s tale.
He wrote: While growing up, I never knew Lisabi was human, when I hear the eulogy of “Egba Omo Lisabi”, I always thought it was a myth, it took me years to realize he was actually a man like me.
I researched for years, I became interested in the story of the heroes of my race, I found out that some of them truly fought for the freedom I have today, together with my team, we have brought you a vivid creation of their heroics, I’m calling on you to embrace it when it hits Netflix.
This is not only for the people of Egba land, it’s for the entire Yoruba race, for all Africans and for every human who values freedom, who understands liberty and the grace of free will, Lisabi de, Ominira de!
Lisabi – The Uprising hits Netflix on the 27th of September, be the first to see it, you will not be disappointed.
