Veteran actor Yemi Solade has shared the secret to his 21-year marriage’s success and revealed why his marriage was successful.
The seasoned actor Yemi Solade and his wife, Hannah, have been married since September 2003.
The 64-year-old film producer Yemi revealed this information in an interview with Nollywood Radio, saying that his wife has been the pillar of their marriage.
He attributed much of their success to Hannah’s encouragement and ability to steer him through life’s ups and downs, and their marriage has produced two children: Rola and Femi.
He said: “I give it to my wife. She manages me very well. She has been very tolerant; she perseveres a lot. My wife, apart from every other thing, is just a normal person. She is very selfless, she sacrifices more than anybody I know in this world. She is God-sent,” Solade said.
“She understands when I have and when I don’t have. She is not ostentatious. Anything I give to her, she prays for me, and that goes a long way.
“Marriage is more like friendship because it is a life contract”.
He also addressed rumors that he seeks sexual favors in exchange for film roles which he disputed the charges, stating that as an actor, he had no say over casting. He also thanked his wife for remaining cool in the face of such rumours.
He added saying “Once I show her and say ‘Honey, sorry, something is brewing,’ and then she says ‘just be careful’, that is all. My wife is a very peaceful person; otherwise, we would not be together for 22 years now.”
The actor previously said that his first wife had left him to live abroad. He also said he met Hannah on the set of Wale Adenuga’s ‘Super Story’.
