The late Nigerian singer Mohbad’s Wife Wunmi Aloba has finally agreed the DNA test should be conducted on her son Liam.Though the test is said to be carried out and monitored by the government.
In a new video that surfaced on social media, Barrister Akingbolu, Wunmi’s lawyer, announced that Wunmi has willingly agreed to do the long-debated DNA test for her son, Liam. This test aims to prove once and for all to her father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Aloba, and other doubters that Liam is indeed Mohbad’s son.
Barrister Akingbolu clarified that Wunmi’s prior reluctance to submit to the DNA test, even though she had initially consented, was caused by tremendous pressure after her husband’s passing—a constant barrage from Mr. Aloba and a horde of internet critics who, he said, used sadness as a weapon to trap her.
According to the barrister, he made grave charges against Mr. Aloba, claiming that he planned a smear campaign against his own daughter-in-law and grandchild using the media.
He said that Wunmi’s choice to move forward with the DNA test—without a court order—was a strong statement for her late husband’s legacy and her son’s dignity, not just a matter of compliance.
