Death tolls from the attack of Boko Haram insurgents on the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum’s convoy on Friday, September 25, has Surged to 30.
The 30 people who died after the attack was security personnel, source told AFP on Saturday.
The source confirmed that the number of causalities that were recorded on Friday after the attack had doubled as more dead bodies were found.
According to him, 5 Soldiers, 12 policemen, 4 members of the government-backed military and 9 civilians were the casualties recorded.
The insurgents group is attacking the state governor the second time after their first attempt was unsuccessful on Friday, 31st of July 2020.
The terrorists according to reports, opened fire with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades as the convoy was passing through a village close to t he headquarters of the Multinational Joint Task Force, a military alliance of troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon.
