Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Everton’s on-loan defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Branthwaite, 18, joined the Toffees a little over 12-months ago following a £1.8m switch from Carlisle, as per Transfermarkt.

Following his 18th birthday last summer, the talented centre-back was awarded with his first-team debut against Wolves following the league’s restart.

After impressing manager Carlo Ancelotti and in an attempt to continue his development, Branthwaite was allowed to join Championship side Blackburn on a short-term-loan last month.

The Everton teenager has already featured in seven matches in all competitions for Blackburn and is slowly becoming one of the country’s most promising defenders.

Despite only joining Everton last season, there are growing suggestions the 18-year-old could be set for an even bigger move.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Branthwaite has emerged as a potential target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils.

It has been claimed that although United’s hierarchy do not view the youngster as a target for the first-team, they certainly admire his potential.

United have a long-standing history of developing youth, something they could look to continue should they successfully agree to bring in Branthwaite.

It is not yet known how much Everton may demand for their talented youngster, however, given his age and the fact he’s English will ensure the teenager comes at a premium.
