Reactions As Ole Solskjaer Drops Anthony Martial Against Arsenal

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made five changes to the side that lost to Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils have the chance to set the record straight this evening at the Emirates Stadium, albeit against an in-form Arsenal side trying to make ground on the Champions League places.

Just a month after being much closer to the relegation zone than they were to fourth, and currently sit ninth in the Premier League.

The Gunners are without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and have been since his mother fell ill, so we obviously with the striker all the best on that front.

There’s no Kieran Tierney in the starting line-up either, after the Scottish left-back returned to training earlier this week.

Here are the official line-ups.

Arsenal: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Luis, Cedric, Partey, Xhaka, Smith Rowe, Pepe, Martinelli, Lacazette.

Subs: Runarsson, Gabriel, Chambers, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Willock, Odegaard, Willian, Nketiah.

Manchester United: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes, Rashford, Cavani.

Subs: Henderson, Bailly, Telles, Tuanzebe, James, Matic, Van de Beek, Greenwood, Martial.

The biggest talking point ahead of the match for United was whether Solskjaer would start Anthony Martial, but the Frenchman has been dropped to the bench after a run of below par performances.

I have long saw Edinson Cavani as the best player to lead the line and build this attack around, so it doesn’t surprise me that the Uruguayan is starting up front against Arsenal.
