Manchester United claimed victory against Steve Bruce’s Magpies after a very shaky start from the Reds.

Goals from Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes basically sealed the win for the home side.

But there is a very worrying trope going on at Old Trafford at the moment. Anthony Martial, the club’s top scorer last season has failed to score more than 4 league goal so far. He has 7 goals across all competitions.

During the game, Martial was not very impressive. He did not do much wrong, he just failed to do much right either. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer yelled something at him when the Frenchman seemed very lathargic in the first half.

The Norwegian told the striker that he needs more movement from him and that he should start moving. However, this did not influence Martial very much as he was taken off for Mason Greenwood with over 20 minutes left to play.

This could be the beginning of the end for the Frenchman in his United career. It is understood that his failure to score goal at very crucial times in the game could push United to find a more long term solution to that problem in the summer.
