Thomas Tuchel recorded his first win as Chelsea manager following the 2-0 win over Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

The German gaffer made several changes to the starting XI as Marcos Alonso returned to the squad since October.

Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Kourt Zouma and Ben Chilwell were all left on the bench for the encounter.

Ceasar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso scored in each half of the game to give Chelsea the deserved three points.

The Blues started the brighter side as they went close on several occasions without finding the back of net but Burnley defended their lines properly.

The deadlock was finally broken five minutes before half-time Azpilicueta side-footed home an instinctive pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi to make it 1-0.

Hudson-Odoi came close in the second as his deflected shot hit cross-bar and Mason Mount also went came close later on.

But six minutes to the end of time, Alonso marked return with a fantastic goal as he was given time and space to chest, control before slamming home the second.

Chelsea are now in tenth on the Premier League table as they prepare for a north London fixture against Tottenham.
