Bruno Fernandes joked about handing Daniel James an assist after scoring his 21st goal of the season for Manchester United in their Europa League rout vs Real Sociedad.
United all but ended the tie with four away goals in Turin and Fernandes continued his incredible goalscoring run with an impressive double.
Fernandes’ second goal, United’s third on the night, was taken in instinctive fashion from their totemic Portuguese playmaker after a blistering counter-attack.
Marcus Rashford found James on the right but Fernandes took control as Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro crept forward and dug out a tidy finish into the bottom corner.
James, who scored United’s fourth, got his first assist for the Reds this season and Fernandes believes it was actually an attempted control from the Welsh forward.
Anyhow, Fernandes capitalised and United should be through to the Europa League round-of-16 stage.
